Seafood Science and Technology Society of the Americas

The Seafood Science and Technology Society of the Americas (previously known as the Tropical & Subtropical Fisheries Technological Society) is a professional, educational association of aquatic food product technologists interested in the application of sciences to the unique problems of production, processing, packaging, distribution, storage and preparation of warmwater fishery products (harvested, cultured or imported).

The principle objective of SST Society of the Americas is to advance the use and understanding of applied and basic sciences related to aquatic product quality and safety. Membership inclues commercial interests, government agencies, academic expertise and students. Program topics typically involved products and settings about the Gulf of Mexico and South Atlantic regions from Texas through Virginia and including the Caribbean Basin and countries about the Gulf of Mexico. They welcome and encourage participation from similar tropical and subtropical regions from all about the world.

The 20th Annual Conference will be held November 5-8, 1995 at the Palmas del Mar Resort in Puerto Rico. A $100 conference registration fee will cover all meeting arrangements, socials and a copy of the proceedings.
